Alongside Accounting is an approved ASCP (Authorised Corporate Service Provider) . We can verify your ID for Companies House. The official list is here.

If that fails, then Alongside Accounting can do the ID verification for £144 (including VAT) for straightforward cases

Expected timeline: less than one working week from submitting the form to receiving the personal code.

The steps afterwards are:

You will get an email from Xama to upload a photograph of your proof of ID and proof of address. The proof of ID must be a passport
Set up an online meeting with the link I send you so that I can verify who you are against the ID you provide
You will be sent the Companies House personal code via email
You will be invoiced once you have received your personal code

2) What if I have more than one company?

The verification process is once per director and it doesn't matter how many companies you have

3) Will my process avoid using GOV.UK One?

Yes. we use a system that is separate to GOV.UK One

4) Will the UK government get my ID documents?

With our process (the ACSP route) - your identity documents are held on our systems and is not sent to the UK government. However, we do have to send details of the ID documents used (such as passport number) as part of the verification process.
With the free GOV.UK One process, I believe that the verification process are not loaded to government systems, merely read. But we don't have a solid source to validate this.

5) What do I do with the Personal Code when I get it? Do you load the code to Companies House for me?

We don't get involved in this part. In fact, the personal code gets emailed to you and we never see it. The next step depends on whether you use an accountant for your confirmation statements and/or annual account filings:

You use an accountant - pass the code to them and they should sort the rest out
You do your own Companies House filings - you'll have to do the linking yourself. This will involve logging into your Companies House account
